Introduction and Goals
To ensure the tests' usefulness, they must be set up to test those characteristics and parts of a test object that represents a risk if it does not function adäquately in production. This means that you need to make choices regarding which parts of the software need (not) to be tested. The fact that the choices are based on risks, result, time and cost is called business-driven. Business Driven Test Management (BDTM) aims at giving the business control over the test process, while the test manager remains in the driving seat.
